It is becoming more and more rare to see a backboard completely shatter during a basketball game. In the days of Shaquille O’Neal, you would see a couple but it just isn’t common. Especially with technology being where it is, there aren’t any shattering dunks anymore.
When they do happen, they are a sight to see.
Brandon Weatherspoon, who is the younger brother of Nick and Quinndary, both of whom play at Mississippi State, broke a backboard. Brandon takes the ball on the fast break and slams it home with two hands.

The youngest Weatherspoon has offers to play at Georgetown, Tennessee and at his brother’s school Mississippi State. Brandon is only a junior and if he continues to make plays like he did on January 23, he has a chance to be a great player.
