It’s been a week since Kelly Slater’s heroic efforts made headlines, and there’s now video footage of the incident.

Last Wednesday, Slater saved photographer Chris Whitey’s wife and son from an enormous wave that swept them across a road in Hawaii. A new video shows Slater running to their rescue along with lifeguards Kala’i Ahuna, Johnny Angel, and Brandon Duhaylonsod, who deserve recognition for their heroism as well.

This is footage from the other day just after @chris.whitey's wife and son were washed off the road by a huge wave surge. That's @kellyslater taking off in front of Lifeguard Kala'i Ahuna in the beginning. As he runs around that's Lifeguard @angelman76 jumping into the ditch, and Lifeguard @bduhay running around on the left. When you're in danger or hurt there's nothing more comforting than knowing someone is there to help, and when you're helping someone there's nothing better than knowing you have other people helping and backing each other up. Thanks to everyone that helped that day including @kellyslater and congratulations on your win today 👊🏽 Video by @spunjah_brad
