Thursday’s game between the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers featured a marquee match up between the teams’ two aces – Madison Bumgarner and Clayton Kershaw.

While a pitching duel could have been expected, the showdown between the two pitchers also featured a pretty huge dinger as Bumgarner actually managed to smash a pitch from the 2014 NL MVP out of the ball park in the bottom of the third.

It was the first run of the game and a career-first of sorts for Kershaw.

Despite being a pitcher, Bumgarner has shown that he’s not THAT BAD of a hitter either. Last season, the Giants pitcher garnered 17 hits in 66 at-bats for a .258 batting average and he also knocked in 15 RBIs and a career-high four home runs.

Thursday’s home run against Kershaw is Bumgarner’s first of the season.
