2 Chainz and Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young hit up RIF in Los Angeles to check out the priciest sneakers that they could find for GQ’s “Most Expensivest Shit” series.

While none of the insanely high prices seemed to faze Young (who, it must be noted, is a dedicated sneakerhead), 2 Chainz seemed slightly bewildered and a little outraged over how much some of the rarer pairs of sneakers cost at RIF.

Things hit a boiling point when the sales associate brought out a pair of the Air Jordan IV “Undefeated.” Given that only 72 pairs of the “Undefeated” were made, the store’s asking price of $25,000 is certainly steep but not that surprising given the popularity of retro Jordans and the extreme scarcity of the colorway. Still, 2 Chainz was dubious about the asking price, stating that the only way that he’d even pay $20,000 for the show was if “Michael Jordan himself either wore them or he had something to do with the final finishing touches.”

When he was informed that the store had turned down offers of $15,000 for the sneakers, 2 Chainz could only say incredulously ask “Someone offered you $15,000 and you didn’t take it?”

While 2 Chainz kept his composure in the store, he didn’t mince words afterwards, noting that the $25,000 shoe “looked like somebody cut their grass in them” and that “it actually looked like somebody wore them 72 times.”

If there could be a roast of a shoe, 2 Chainz would be the host of the event.

“I actually wish I had a whole ‘nother thumb so I could give it three thumbs down. I would never, ever fuck my money up like that, but that’s just me.”
