For all the things that Cortland Finnegan accomplished on the football field, the cornerback was most well-known for his ability to get under the skin of opposing wide receivers.

Finnegan made a career out of employing extra-curricular tactics to win a matchup against an opponent. In 2010, Finnegan was fined for throwing Giants’ wide receiver Steve Smith to the floor by his helmet. That same year, he also hit Broncos guard Chris Kuper while Kuper was helmetless. However, the one incident that forever defined Finnegan on the field occurred when Finnegan faced Andre Johnson on November 18th, 2010.

Finnegan and Johnson were both ejected from the game, but it sure looked like Johnson got the better of Finnegan in that fight.

However, when Finnegan announced his retirement from the NFL on Instagram on Wednesday, he couldn’t help but get in one last shot at Johnson. Although he didn’t call out Johnson by his name, Finnegan did reference “a fight in an NFL game,” noting that the other guy “hits like a bish.”

I don’t think that Cortland Finnegan watched the same fight as the rest of humanity.
