The NCAA tournament hasn’t even started yet but we’re already getting some madness in March courtesy of Texas Southern and Southern University women’s basketball teams.

The two schools met on the court this weekend and neither walked away a winner after a crazy brawl ended their final regular season game with a double forfeit and, ultimately, resulted in fifteen suspensions.

The wild ruckus involving players, cheerleaders and spectators was caused by a hard foul in the second half and quickly escalated until officials were forced to call off the remainder of the game.

The incident was reviewed and led to fifteen players being suspended (and one being cut) just as the teams were preparing for the postseason. Texas Southern, the SWAC’s #1 seed, was forced to withdraw from the tournament because their suspensions put them below the threshold for minimum players needed to compete.
