Somehow, Marshawn Lynch’s Super Bowl press conferences keep on getting better and better.

Seemingly fed up with how much attention he’s been getting for not saying anything of interest, Marshawn Lynch started off his Thursday press conference by laying down some ground rules. And while he certainly had more to say than “I’m here so I won’t get fined,” Lynch let everyone know who was going to be dictating the next five minutes of everyone’s time.

“All week, I’ve been telling you all what’s up. And for some reason, you continue to come back and do the same thing that you all did. I don’t know what story you all trying to get out of me. I don’t know what image you’re all trying to portray of me but it don’t matter what you all think, what you all say about me because when I go home at night, the same people that I look in the face, my family that I love, that’s all that really matters to me. So y’all can go and make up whatever you want to make up because I don’t say enough to go and put anything out on them.

But I’ll come to y’all event and y’all shove cameras and microphones down my throat but when I’m at home in my environment, I don’t see y’all but y’all mad at me. And if you aren’t mad at me then what are you here for?

I ain’t got nothing for you though… I told you all that so you all should know that. But you all will sit here, like right now, and continue to do the same thing. I’m here preparing for a game and you all are asking me all these questions which is understandable. I can get in with that. But I told you all, I’m not about to say nothing.

So for the remainder of my, what’s that, three minutes, because I’m here, I’m available for y’all, I’m here, I’m available for y’all. I done talked. All my requirements are fulfilled. So now, this next three minutes, I’ll just be looking at y’all like the way that you all are looking at me. Thank you.”

Lynch had some exchanges with reporters (he didn’t just stare at them) but its slightly amazing that the whole room didn’t explode due to all the truth bombs that Lynch dropped in two minutes.

Best of all, Marshawn Lynch was brilliantly upfront and truthful with the media. What more could they ask for?
