I was lucky enough to see an early screening of Baron Davis’ documentary he has been working on called ‘The Drew: No Excuse, Just Produce’ and I can honestly say it was fantastic. Living in California I have spent that last few summers attending D-League games, but have never had a chance to really learn about the history of the league. The documentary provided more than enough back story and did it in a wildly entertaining fashion.

From Baron himself:

My team and I have been working on The Drew: No Excuse, Just Produce, for over two years now. This has been one of the most challenging yet amazing journeys, since we are driven to make a film that truly celebrates The Drew, LA Basketball and it’s history. It is a culture of basketball and a history that has been long overlooked. This is not just a sports documentary– it’s a story about family, community, and the lessons we learn through basketball.

This week Baron and crew launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise $100,000 in just 30 days to support the release of the film. I for one will be donating, and you should as well.
