When the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Cleveland Cavaliers last Thursday, Kobe Bryant handed out a career-high 17 assists. It was an impressive moment for Bryant and it appears that he inspired at least one of his teammates to share the ball more.

On Monday night, the Lakers were playing the Phoenix Suns without Kobe so Nick Young took it upon himself to take on the spirit of giving and dish out as many assists as he has in a game this season – with three.

After the game, Young credited Kobe for his unusually high assist total.

If Young is going to ever get that coveted ten assists in one game, he’ll have to alter his game dramatically (at least for one evening). The Lakers shooting guard is averaging 1.1 assists per a game over the course of his career.

Long live Swaggy P, may he one day get that double-double.
