Most fantasy owners (hopefully) drafted Ryan Mathews with the intention that he’d either be their No. 3 running back or flex option every week, but unfortunately the oft-injured Chargers ball-carrier has provided absolutely nothing in 2014. Mathews is slated to return in Week 11 from a 9-week absence after a knee injury in Week 2 and there have been rumors that he’ll retake the starting role.

In doing so, apparently he’ll see 15 touches, meaning he’s more than an adequate bye week fill-in RB2 for DeMarco Murray, Justin Forsett or Denard Robinson. While head coach Mike McCoy may allow him more than those 15 touches, do not expect a 20-plus carry day, but as our No. 13 running back this week he’ll provide the necessary stability for a playoff pushing matchup.
