In a move that was as awesome as it was surprising, the Detroit Lions ran a perfect fake punt in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.

With a 4th and 6 from Detroit’s 45 yard line, punter Sam Martin took the snap and casually flicked it to a wide-open Jed Collins, who took it all the way to Miami’s 31 yard line.

The move was unexpected for a couple of reasons.

A) It happened so incredibly early in the game, when no one could have expected it.

B) The fake punt call happened under the watch of Jim Caldwell, a man who makes knitted sweaters seem wildly dangerous.

More fake punts please.
