Preseason contests in sports generally don’t matter in terms of stats or wins and losses, but the Utah Jazz made sure last night’s intra-squad scrimmage had some significance for five-year old JP Gibbons. The young Jazz fan, who is battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia, was signed to the Jazz roster, given his own uniform and subbed into Monday night’s White-Blue game. Not only did he get to bring up the ball for his favorite team, but he also got to throw down a dunk with the help of one of his teammates. Pretty awesome.

Props to the Jazz for finding a way to make preseason meaningful while giving that kid and his family a memory they’ll never forget.
