The Washington Huskies have been a team that has perennially been on the cusp of being a serious competitor in the Pac 12 Conference but the team is ripe to take a step back this year. With coach Steve Sarkisian leaving the program for USC, new head coach Chris Petersen has his work cut out for him as Sarkisian led the Huskies to one of their most successful seasons that found the Huskies still losing to Oregon and USC. The offense looks to be solid with four returning offensive line starters, a good receiving unit and a quarterback position that should be set starting the second week of the season (projected starter Cyler Miles was suspended for the first game of the year). The defense will be a greater concern as the secondary doesn’t have much to boast about behind Marcus Peters. While the defensive line is solid and the linebackers are experienced, without the secondary stepping up, the Huskies may have a difficult time building on their success from last season.

The Washington Huskies National Championship odds are currently at 100-1.
