128 FBS college football teams opened camp within the last month, all of which are loaded with optimism for the 2014 season and 25 of which cracked the AP preseason poll.

Each of those 25 teams believe they have a legitimate shot at the College Football Playoff, and rightfully so, but the reality is a handful of them might not even reach bowl eligibility. One-eighth of last year’s preseason top 25 teams failed to go bowling, with Northwestern, Florida and TCU combining for 13 wins and exactly zero bowl berths.

Very few, if any, “experts” were picking the Wildcats, Gators and Horned Frogs to win less than six ballgames and again this year no one believes any of the top 25 teams will do the same, but it will happen, proving the art of season-long predictions is a crap shoot.

In order to curb your expectations or unintentionally ruffle a few feathers, here is a re-ranking of the AP Preseason for teams most likely to miss bowl eligibility in 2014.
