Matt Shoemaker, rookie starter for the Los Angeles Angels, was in the middle of the game of his life last night when Boston’s Will Middlebrooks broke up his no-hitter in the seventh inning. After the game, Shoemaker didn’t seem very pleased with the pitch he threw to Middlebrooks, saying:

It was supposed be down, but it was belt-high, middle-in.”

And:

He roped it down the line. Definitely an unfortunate pitch given the circumstances.”

Danielle Shoemaker, Shoemaker’s wife, seemed to be a little more upset during the game…

Gotta love that. Red Sox fans, however, apparently did not appreciate Danielle’s remarks regarding Middlebrooks. Because, you know, don’t you dare mess with our Middlebrooks. Danielle has since deleted the original tweet.
