Protip: If you’re gonna write a story about a young kid’s funeral, at least get his name right. And don’t use the first name and picture of the guy who killed him.
The headline of the actual article on ESPN’s website has been fixed but, as of 1:20 PM – more than an hour after publishing – the original tweet still hasn’t been corrected.
Update: Two hours after the original tweet, ESPN posts an apology on Twitter:
Deepest apologies to all for getting Kevin Ward Jr.’s name and photo wrong in an earlier tweet today.
