Jerricho Cotchery, Tiquan Underwood, Jason Avant

Old Teams: Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles

New Team: Carolina Panthers

Even though it may feel like Jason Avant has been in the league for two decades, the former Michigan Wolverine is only 31-years-old and appears to have a few productive seasons left, at least that’s what Cam Newton is hoping for after the front office blew up his receiving corps this offseason.

The Panthers lost their top three wide receivers this offseason: Steve Smith (Baltimore), Ted Ginn Jr. (Arizona) and Brandon LaFell (New England) but are praying Avant combined with veterans Tiquan Underwood and Jerricho Cotchery are adequate alongside rookie Kelvin Benjamin.

The bad news for fantasy owners? It’s going to be a crap shoot between those four and potentially 2-3 more random faces.

Only a couple fantasy sources rank any of the new three WRs inside their top 50, with that player being Jerricho Cotchery and handful do not even include Underwood or Avant inside the top 100. Benjamin, a likely 9-11th round selection and Cotchery (13-15th) are the only two worth plucking on draft day. If you play in a keeper league, take a hard look at Benjamin as you roll into the 8th round, as he could be Newton’s No. 1 target for the next 6-8 years.
