The Tampa Bay Rays will be in Chicago to face the Cubs for a weekend series that will culminate with a “1980s Day” at Wrigley Field on Sunday afternoon. The Cubbies will be revisiting their franchise history by breaking out these throwbacks for the occasion:
The Rays, however, weren’t around in the 1980s (their inaugural season was 1998) so they had to be a little more creative to participate in the throwback day at Wrigley. The team has designed a retro-styled uniform that they’ll wear for the first time, giving us a glimpse at what the Rays may have looked like had they been around a decade earlier. They’re pretty awesome:
