Daniel Cormier has been itching to fight UFC lightweight champion Jon Jones but he probably never expected a fight quite like this.

Cormier recently called out Jones, saying, “I’m the kid at the wrestling tournament that is always in your bracket. No matter where you go boy, I’m coming,” and as luck would have it, Jones next scheduled opponent had to bow out of the match due to injury. Cormier took his place.

Thrilled at this news, Cormier then implored his Twitter followers to start sending messages to Jones (Twitter trolling, the new UFC art form). Jones wasn’t too happy about it and let Cormier know. Cormier tried to respond on Twitter but couldn’t due to the fact that Jones doesn’t follow him. Instead, Cormier aired his response publicly on instagram:

Seeing that this fight was now progressing from DMs on Twitter to full blown instagram throw-downs, Jones played his ultimate trump card: his six year old daughter.

Which is the best response that you could possibly come up with. What is Cormier going to do? Challenge a six year old to a war of words? Demand that Jon Jones quit hiding behind his adorable child?

Jon Jones may be the UFC lightweight champion but he is also the champion of social media beefs. Well played, sir.
