Colombia v Uruguay: Round of 16 - 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil

Colombian superstar James Rodriguez – winner of this year’s Golden Boot as the top goal scorer in the World Cup – has cashed in on his outstanding performance showcased last month in Brazil. James’ World Cup ended with a tearful loss to Brazil, but his transfer deal to Real Madrid should help cheer him up.

The 23-year old winger/midfielder has reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid from his former club, AS Monaco, on a blockbuster transfer deal believed to exceed $100 million. Rodriguez’s new deal is for six years.

James is one of the most promising and exciting young players in the game today so it’s no surprise that his fantastic showing in the World Cup has translated into a major, big-money deal…and it’s also not very surprising that said deal came from the checkbook of Real Madrid.
