Well, this isn’t something you see everyday.

In the fourth inning of Tuesday night’s game between the Cleveland Indians and the Los Angeles Dodgers, Adrian Gonzalez hit a fly ball into left field and it was caught by Michael Brantley who immediately rifled the ball towards home plate in time to get Dee Brown out. Indians catcher Yan Gomes’ then collected himself before throwing towards second base, where runner Yasiel Puig was found safe. The Indians called for a review at second and got the call overturned.

In a weird moment of review-shenanigans (that kind of shows that baseball is still working out this whole instant replay thing) the Dodgers then challenged the call at home plate because, lets face it, these kinds of triple plays just shouldn’t happen.

Luckily for lovers of rare baseball moments everywhere, the umpires eventually sided with the original call at home, thus giving the world the extremely rare 7-2-4 triple play.
