During today’s 6-0 drubbing of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Los Angeles Dodgers decided to have some fun at the expense of outfielder Scott Van Slyke by giving him a “hot foot”. A “hot foot” is when you take a book of matches and affix it to the heel of a player’s shoe. You light it and wait for him to react to the smell, smoke, or painful burning sensation.

Lucky for all of us, the great Vin Scully took note and narrated the whole thing.

Also, in case you missed it, the Dodgers were 9 1/2 games behind the Frisco Giants 20 games ago. With the Reds beating the Hated Ones today, the Dodgers have moved into a tie for first place in the NL West.
