The Kings nearly tied Game 4 at 1-1 in the first period on this sequence. Jeff Carter was in great position to bury the puck after it slipped through Henrik Lundqvist’s five hole and stopped on the goal line, but Carter just couldn’t manage to get his stick on it.

After initially whiffing on the sitting puck as well, Rangers defenseman Anton Stralman was able to clear it out and prevent a goal to maintain New York’s lead.

With the Kings still down by a goal in the final minute of the game, an eerily similar sequence occurred behind Lundqvist. This time, the puck stopped thanks to a “snow fort” on the goal line before Derek Stepan was able to clear it out with his hand:

Prior to Game 4, the Rangers complained about not having any “puck luck” throughout the series. Looks like they got their due (and then some) on Wednesday.
