Dee Gordon leads all of Major League Baseball with 36 stolen bases this season. He had only been thrown out four times this year prior to last night, so it’s not surprising that he wasn’t very happy when he was thrown out by Cincinnati catcher Brayan Pena during last night’s Dodgers-Reds game.

Maybe it was karma for Gordon attempting to steal with a 6-2 lead in the ninth inning – generally considered a violation of baseball’s “unwritten rules” – or maybe his legs just lost a rare showdown.

Either way, Gordon’s response wasn’t the most professional these eyes have ever seen…he got back to the dugout and threw a towel before flipping the bird in the direction of someone on the field. Judging from the smirk on Gordon’s face, it might have just been a playful gesture that, unfortunately for him, was caught by the dugout camera.
