Alshon Jeffery recently told sportingnews.com that he and Brandon Marshall are the best wide receiver tandem in the league. While Jeffery’s declaration might come as a surprise given his usual quiet personality, he’s spot on with his assessment.

In terms of raw stats, Jeffery and Marshall put up pretty historic numbers for a team that Muhsin Muhammad once referred to as a place “where receivers go to die.” The duo combined for 189 receptions, 2716 yards, and 19 touchdowns.

More impressively, Jeffery and Marshall combined for 51 percent of the team’s receptions, 61 percent of the team’s receiving yards, 59 percent of all touchdowns through the air, and, most impressively, 43 percent of the team’s total offense.

Keep in mind that Jeffery and Marshall managed to do this with Josh McCown throwing 39 percent of the team’s passes.

For the sake of comparison, Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker — another top receiving duo — managed to combine for 179 receptions, 2718 yards, and 25 touchdowns for the Denver Broncos. Those numbers totaled 39 percent of the team’s receptions, 49 percent of its receiving yards, 45 percent of its passing touchdowns, and 37 percent of the team’s total offense.

In addition to the stats, Jeffery and Marshall also have the “Wow” factor on lock.
