Tommy Lasorda has been friends with Donald Sterling for quite some time and the longtime Dodgers coach finally weighed in on the controversy surrounding the Clippers owner.

In an interview with a Florida TV station this week, this is what Lasorda had to say about the whole situation:

“I’ve been a friend of that guy’s for 30 years,” he said. “It doesn’t surprise me that he said those things. And he shouldn’t have said it. He just hurt himself by talking too much and doing things he shouldn’t be doing.”

Lasorda also shared an unsolicited opinion on Sterling’s silly rabbit, V. Stiviano.

“And I don’t wish that girl any bad luck but I hope she gets hit with a car,” he said.

Well, that last sentence seems quite conflicting. I’m not sure what kind of troubles Lasorda has faced in his lifetime, but  getting hit by a car is kind of considered ‘bad luck’ where I’m from. And, in case you were curious, there’s video of the interview and Lasorda definitely does not look like he was joking.
