Some things in life are sacred and winning the Medal of Honor on this land is one of them. In 2009, during his time spent in Afghanistan, Former Staff Sgt. Clinton Romesha held an outpost near Pakistan and led a massive counter attack against insurgents with numbers that seemed utterly insurmountable. Since, Sgt. Romesha has become the fourth living person to be bestowed the award during our country’s deployement spent in Afghanistan and Iraq. Over the weekend the story come to life on CNN in a commemamorative special and I couldn’t help but be absolutely humbled and blown away by the actions of bravery described on that day. As he led his Afghan National Army Unit against a hoard of enemy fighters, this man became a true American Hero and is a testament of how a normal 31 year old can be so courageous in times of such chaos and utter adversity.
