Italian striker Mario Balotelli has always drawn quite a stir on and off the pitch. This time, however, he has inspired Italian artist Dario Gambarin to create a 2,700 square metre portrait of the Manchester City man.

Gambarin cut the striker’s signature blonde mohawk and the top of his jersey, which reads ‘Italia’ into a wheat field in Castagnaro, just outside Verona.

The field is not the first work done like this by Gambarin. He also did portraits of Barack Obama and Nelson Mandela.
