This is some of the best brand marketing I have seen in quite a while. Check out how the creative folks working for Corona have turned a Corona billboard in downtown Manhattan into a perfectly aligned marketing ploy with the moon. A ton of measurements and calculations went into making sure the billboard was perfectly angled so at a certain point the moon landed perfectly into a lime slice shape. It will happen again on June 14 and 15. Brilliant.

Darren Rovell may get a hard time from us every now and then, but he usually comes through with a few gems a day. The below would be one of them which he brought to the world’s attention on Twitter. The folks at Oscar Mayer are allowing consumers to ‘say it with bacon’ as they can purchase velvet boxes full of bacon. The gifts are apparently available for just four weeks beginning June 4, 2013.

According to the WSJ:

Delicately bundled in a luxurious velvet jewelers box, the Oscar Mayer Original Collection includes 18-20 slices of delicious Oscar Mayer Original bacon, and is available in three personalized gift sets: The Commander, which comes with a stainless steel money-clip engraved with the words “Bringin’ it Home” and an image of a bacon strip; The Matador, which features two handsome bacon strip cufflinks; and The Woodsman, which includes a rugged 12 function multitool with a bacon strip image carved into the handle.

I was sort of taken aback by this post courtesy of Papa John’s as I scrolled through my Facebook newsfeed. No context or anything, just a massive apology tossed out in a public forum.   Whatever happened, they sure aren’t shying away from that, and you have to respect that method.

The incident they are apologizing for is in regards to a very angry Papa John’s customer who posted a delivery man’s racist voicemail to him online. Two Papa John’s Pizza employees in Sanford, Florida were fired because of the inexcusable incident.

Anthony Hill took his wife, Christina Salinas, out for a night of fun at the Penn Valley Rodeo in California, but what happened later was anything but fun. Anthony wanted to leave, but Christina wanted to stay and dance at the rodeo. Christina became furious and once they returned home she grabbed two kitchen knives. Thankfully her ex-husband who strangely lives with the couple convinced her to put the knives down. Then Anthony attempted to drive away with Christina’s four children. That’s when things escalated quickly. Christina then chomped her husband’s hand and bit his penis. Despite suffering wounds on his hand and his junk, Anthony says he’s standing by his wife.

If this was Anthony’s first time at the rodeo, I bet you it will be his last.

Trampolines are marketed as harmless, bouncy fun for young children, but truth be told they’re practically torture devices. If man was intended to skip through the atmosphere there would be no gravity, but fortunately that doesn’t stop people from thinking they can fly by jumping on trampolines.
