Big Baller Brand is in negotiations to expand outside LaVar Ball family tree. Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Crawford is “in talks” with the BBB about signing a partnership deal.

The 29-year-old isn’t exactly a brand driver or household name, as Crawford’s played on five different teams since joining the league in 2010-11, but he’s an NBA player without the last name Ball willing to join the Big Baller Brand – that’s huge.

Crawford’s appeared in five games with the Pelicans after signing a deal late in the season. He’s averaged 6.6 points and 2.6 assists per game in five games. He registered a DNP in Game 1 the Pelicans 97-95 win against the Portland Trail Blazers.

It would be a heck of a surprise if the news led to more NBA stars joining the BBB, however, if LaVar Ball can snag Crawford, it adds credence to the brand being less of a sole family business and more of an NBA-wide thing.

We’ll see what the Crawford signing means – if anything – for the BBB. Will LaVar demand Crawford sign with the Lakers? Probably.
