Love em’ or hate em,’ Barstool Sports is continuing to make significant moves to legitimize their Rough N Rowdy boxing competition further.

On Monday, Barstool Sports announced comedian Bill Burr will serve as a guest commentator with founder Dave Portnoy and Pardon My Take’s Dan Katz for an April 13th pay-per-view event.

Back in December, Barstool announced the acquisition of the amateur boxing series. The league has brought in big numbers in pay-per-view sells with fights featuring Barstool personalities and Rough N Rowdy boxers.

Bringing on Burr helps bring further credibility to the league. Burr, a legendary stand-up comic, and creator, and star of the Netflix animated series F is for Family, will bring a strong voice to the crew and give them a big name to lean on for coverage of the event.

Who knows? Maybe once Burr tries out the job, he’ll be inclined to stick around or more than just a guest announcer role. Regardless, it will be interesting to see him try announcing alongside Barstool, which is a natural fit for the Massachusetts-born comedian.
