Former Chicago Bulls Sixth Man of the Year Ben Gordon is facing a potential three years in prison after getting charged with four misdemeanors in relation to a recent arrest for robbery.

According to TMZ, Gordon was arrested after allegedly beating up someone at an apartment building and stealing a few thousand dollars in cash. The alleged incident reportedly stemmed from a disagreement on a security deposit with a former landlord.

Gordon’s been in trouble with the law before. He was placed on psychiatric hold after allegedly locking himself in a gym with a woman while holding a knife. He also was arrested last June for pulling fire alarms in his building.

Gordon, who last appeared in NBA in 2015 with the Orlando Magic, is set be arraigned next month. The 34-year-old would have faced even more jail time if he was charged with felonies in the case. Thankfully, for him, he avoided them. Still, three years is a lot of time in prison.

It’s clear Gordon has issues that extend well beyond the law. Hopefully, the charges are the start of a re-start for Gordon. Here’s hoping he figures things out.
