nextgen

The generation of consoles is amazing and there have definitely been some awesome video games for them so far. Although the new games are great, a part of me would absolutely love to see some older games remastered for the XBox One and Playstation 4. I picked out five games that I think should get the remastered and updated touch.

1. NFL Street 2

NFL Street was a great game in its own right but NFL Street 2 might be my favorite sports game ever. Being able to run on walls, use Gamebreaker 2.0, and assemble a team of NFL All Stars to take on Xzibit’s team on the top of a freaking building was just perfect.

Imagine this game remastered and updated with current rosters. Cam Newton, Antonio Brown, Todd Gurley, Adrian Peterson, Calvin Johnson, JJ Watt, and The Legion of Boom. The list goes on and on.

2. NBA Street Vol. 2

I’m not a huge basketball fan but even I can’t deny how fun NBA Street Vol. 2 was. I have the same idea with this game that I did with NFL Street 2. This game remastered and updated with all the current NBA players would be amazing.

3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 might go down as the best first person shooter in the history of gaming. It had one of the best campaigns I have ever played (in a first person shooter) as well as a perfect multiplayer. There are rumors that this game might get patched over to the XBox One but I would much rather have them remaster the whole thing.

It would be ideal if they could remaster the Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 3 campaigns to go along with this game’s campaign but I know that is a very tall order.

4. Burnout 3: Takedown

The Burnout series is the perfect arcade racer and the one in the series that embodied that the most was Burnout 3: Takedown. It was a a perfectly good racing game where you could also take out other cars in spectacular ways by tuning them up using in parts like this Bosch diesel nozzle. There was no better feeling than slamming an opponent into an on coming oil tanker and watching the action movie explosion in slow motion.

On top of the racing itself, there was also a bunch of awesome modes including Road Rage, where players had to take out as many opponents as possible, and Crash mode, where you launched your car into an intersection to see how much damage you could cause. Having this updated with an online mode would be absolutely amazing.

5. Need For Speed: Underground

This one was the hardest to figure out for me because I could have included so many more awesome video games but I decided to go with Need for Speed: Underground.

Underground was a bit of a risk for EA as the other NFS games were street racers that focused on super cars. This entry was them using the popularity of The Fast and The Furious and putting in video game form. The game featured limitless customization, awesome tracks and cars, and one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard.

Like most of the games on this list, if this game is updated with new cars and remastered, it will sell millions of copies.

By the way, EA, I’m available if you want me to spearhead the campaign for any of these games to be redone. Just say the word.

Have any more games you think deserve to be updated and remastered? Tweet at me here or tweet at the blog here.
