Seattle Seahawks running back, PR genius and clothing line maker Marshawn Lynch will soon be able to add “video game character” to his ever-growing resume.

Yes, the man known as Beast Mode will have his own modeled character in Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Lynch will reportedly be a part of an underworld group of mercenaries in the game according to Sam Alipour of ESPN.

Marshawn is a huge Call of Duty fan, having played the game since his college days and he finds that it’s a great way to stay in contact with his friends and teammates.

The nine-year NFL veteran now logs on daily for battles with teammates old and new, because “it’s a cool way to keep in contact,” he says. “It’s a fun-loving way to let off some stress.” As a bonus, the game aligns with Lynch’s on-field philosophy. “You’re shooting up everything but always fighting for a bigger picture. The whole game is Beast Mode.”

When the folks at Call of Duty found that they needed a model for “an imposing figure,” they knew that Marshawn would fit that role perfectly once they found out that he was a fan of the series.

Judging by the film, Marshawn looks as comfortable doing motion-capture for the video game as he does running through opponents on the field. A perfect match, indeed.
