Celebrity Deathmatch will be making a return to a television set near you for the first time since 2007.

The show that pits clay figures of pop culture mainstays against each other in exceedingly violent and hilarious fatal fights will air on MTV2 according to The Hollywood Reporter. Right now, MTV2 is only committing to a pilot order. Hopefully, a full-season run won’t be far behind.

The original series ran for 75 episodes on MTV from 1998-2002 before it was canceled, only to be revived by MTV2 in 2005 as part of a Friday programming block that ultimately aired in 2006. The fifth season, produced by Cuppa Coffee Studios, drew 2.5 million total viewers to the network, becoming MTV2’s highest-rated season premiere ever before the series was canceled for a second time in 2007.

Celebrity Deathmatch has often had athletes headline its matches. Previous matches have included Michael Jordan vs. Dennis Rodman, Evander Holyfield vs. Mike Tyson, Andre Agassi vs. Tiger Woods, O.J. Simpson vs. Joe Namath, Mark McGwire vs. Sammy Sosa and Kobe Bryant vs. Shaquille O’Neal.

As for matches that I’d like to see for this go around, I’d have to go with the Gasol bros vs. the Splash Bros, Nadal vs. Federer and LeBron James vs Johnny Manziel for the soul of Cleveland. When one really thinks about it, the possibilities are endless.
