Clint CapelaBefore we get started here, you’re probably wondering who the hell Clint Capela is. Well, he’s a 6’10” Swiss power forward who was drafted by the Houston Rockets in the first round of the 2014 NBA Draft (25th pick overall). He’s spent most the season racking up Inactives, DNPs and some attractive D-League stat lines, but with Donatas Motiejunas out for the remainder of the season, he’s managed to find a few more minutes of game action the last two weeks of the regular season. Capela’s limited action has resulted in averages of 5.5 minutes and 1.4 points per game, which is fine for someone who hardly plays.

What is cause for concern, though, is his free throw shooting. In his first ten games (sprinkled throughout the entire season), Capela attempted 15 free throws and missed all of them. It’s bad enough to go o-fer from the line, but when two of your teammates are Josh Smith and Dwight Howard, it means the Rockets now have a third target for Hack-a-Shaq strategies, should Capela have to play minutes in a meaningful game. The good news is Capela finally made his first two free throws, so maybe this is all he needs to get in a rhythm.
