FredHoiberg

Fred Hoiberg’s name has come up for numerous coaching and front office positions over the last few years and ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Williams is claiming the Chicago Bulls might be the latest to target him.

It is unclear how much truth there is behind rumors that current Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau is on his way out of Chicago but it certainly could be a possibility if they finish 2014-15 with an early playoff exit. If they do elect to go a different direction, Williams believes the front office is targeting Iowa State’s Fred Hoiberg:

Hoiberg spent 10 seasons in the NBA with the Pacers, Bulls and Timberwolves before moving to a front office position with Minnesota and eventually accepting the head coaching job in Ames in 2010. He has brought impressive success and stability back to the Iowa State program and is beloved by the fan base at his alma mater. Hoiberg is also from Ames and appears to be enjoying himself at ISU therefore while it might be an intriguing hire, would he even be interested?
