Last week, AT&T invited four inspiring golfers to the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am to give people a fan’s eye view of the tournament.

The Foursome that AT&T asked to Pebble Beach included Tim Lang, a military veteran, Tiffany Fitzgerald, founder of Black Girls Golf, Dan McLaughlin, creator of “The Dan Plan,” and Katie Horsford, a teen golfer who aspires to turn professional.

And while the tournament is renowned for bringing some of the world’s best pros and most entertaining celebrities together, the Foursome that AT&T welcomed to Pebble Beach proved that golfers of all backgrounds can enjoy the enriching experience of the Pro-Am.

Indeed, one of the best things about the Fan’s Eye View is that it demonstrates how golf is a unifying sport. It is one of the most individually challenging activities that one can commit themselves to but it’s that commitment that draws people together in exciting and unexpected ways. Tim Lang emphasized to us how the individual mastery of golf is something which people can spend a lifetime bonding over:

“Camaraderie, playing outside, being competitive, meeting new people. You can do that for the rest of your life with golf.“

Or, to put it another way, golf mirrors life. As Katie Horsford told us in an interview, one can “get a ton of good breaks and some bad ones but you keep playing.”If there is one thing that unites golf’s celebrities, professionals and fans as diverse as Katie Horsford, Tim Lang, Dan McLaughlin and Tiffany Fitzgerald, it is that drive to keep playing. The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am may come once a year but the relationships that are built on the golf course can last a lifetime.
