Every year, countless awards are given out to individual NFL players but the NFL’s offensive linemen rarely receive the attention and accolades that nearly every other position enjoys.

Next Impulse Sports and Athletes LTD will be looking to change all that with a weekly series entitled The Trenches (Big Guys Need Love Too) which will highlight one offensive lineman for his game day outstanding performance.

This week, The Trenches gives a much-deserved shout-out to Denver Broncos offensive tackle Ryan Clady for the work that he put in against the Kansas City Chiefs. With the divisional rivals facing off in a critical match with major playoff implications, Clady came through.

One needs to look no further than the run game to see how dominant Clady and the rest of the line was on Sunday. Relatively unknown running back C.J. Anderson had the best rushing performance of his career (168 yards on the ground). To put that performance into some perspective, Anderson was the Broncos’ third-string running back due to injuries at the position. Clady made it seem like there was no lack of depth in the running game at all.

One knows that the offensive line had a great day when the story coming out of the game was that C.J. Anderson’s legs were the decisive factor in the victory and not Peyton Manning’s arm.

For that type of play, Ryan Clady gets the coveted Golden Knee Brace. Tune in next week to see who The Trenches decides to honor next.
