First, there was this Nike ad which seems to liken rooting for LeBron James to a communal religious experience. Then, Cavs fans decided to take it a step further and hold, I shit you not, a LeBron James forgiveness ceremony. This truly bizarre ritual was done as an apology of sorts to LeBron for spurning him after he left Cleveland for Miami. Yes, Cleveland fans are treating LeBron James as if he is some sort of vengeful deity who they blasphemously betrayed.

It’s like the city of Cleveland cheated on LeBron and throwing chalk in the air is some sort of mystical trust exercise.

Can we just skip ahead to sick dunks and LeBron triple-doubles, please?
