Playing in his first game of the season for the Red Wings, Pavel Datsyuk worked his Datsyukian magic on Tuesday night against the Montreal Canadiens. Datsyuk maneuvered his way around the offensive zone before firing off a laser backhand shot into the top corner to light the lamp in the third period of the Wings’ 2-1 loss against the Habs.

Unfortunately for Datsyuk (and fans of awesome goals), it didn’t count because the refs waved it off due to ‘incidental contact’ in front of the net.

Argue all you want about whether or not it should have been nullified, but there’s no arguing that Datsyuk is still downright filthy with the puck on his stick.
