Jay Glazer sent the tweet heard ’round the NFL world this afternoon that the Seattle Seahawks had traded electrifying wide receiver Percy Harvin to the very non-title contending New York Jets.

Adam Schefter then provided a brief explanation of why the reigning Super Bowl champs traded away a game-changing player for a conditional draft pick:

While this makes sense, as general manager John Schneider is considered among the best in the business and has no time for guys that he doesn’t believe fit in their long-term plans. Harvin is (was) signed through 2018 with Seattle. However, we’re not buying it and have uncovered the more logical explanations for the shocking trade.
