This is about the time of the year that over half the fantasy football owners develop an intense disdain for the beautiful world of fantasy football. For every Reggie Wayne explosion, there’s a Calvin Johnson dud. For every Steve Smith highlight reel touchdown, there’s a ridiculous Tom Brady interception.

The other half of owners are either gushing with obnoxious optimism or they’re clutching their sweat-stained Eli Manning jersey wondering if he can maintain  a 17-point average over the next 10 weeks. Regardless of where you fall, everyone holds a sliver of pessimism for what’s to come, largely a result of repeated unforeseen circumstances that have thousands of owners claiming they were screwed.

But who actually got screwed in Week 4?

Opponents of Brandon LaFell

Brandon LaFell began his Patriots career very unceremoniously, failing to catch any of his six targets in Week 1 and did not receive a single target while playing half the offense’s snaps in Week 2. While he did slightly rebound in Week 3 with four catches for a whopping 46 yards, the little-owned WR remained was in only a handful of lineups for New England’s Monday Night Football debacle in Kansas City.

However, for those desperate enough to start LaFell, he screwed over a ton of opponents with six catches for 119 yards and one tuddy, good enough for 17.9 points in standard scoring leagues. The unexpected huge day gave those ballsy owners a whole lot to scream about and the bitter opponents a whole lot to complain about.
