Punt and kickoff returns remain two of the most dangerous football plays, with numerous players suffering serious injuries during those handful of sequences every game.

Penn State punt returner Jesse Della Valle was kindly reminded of the dangers of special teams when he attempted to field a very non-returnable punt against Northwestern. The senior DB is hammered by a Northwestern player and granted the hit did draw an interference penalty but Della Valle got his bell rung as punishment for not signaling for an obvious fair catch.
