Max Lamm developed rare form of cancer called retinoblastoma as an infant. Usually fatal, the cancer was caught early enough to save Max’s life. However, Max lose his ability see as a result of his battle with cancer.

Not letting his loss of sight define him, Max began wrestling in the second grade and he hasn’t stopped improving his game since. He finished 10-1 last season in matches as he’s learned to leverage his other senses and gain a greater feel for the sport.

And as great as that is, what stands out most in Bleacher Report’s video segment on Max is Max’s outstanding character. The best part of the video may be the fact that Max asked “Why?” when he learned that Bleacher Report wanted to do a story on his journey.
