The Arizona Sun Devils made the Pac 12 Championship Game last year in Todd Graham’s second year as head coach and the team will look to build on that momentum in 2014. The main problem that the team will face is that their defense looks to be worse than it was last year and the 2013 defense was already a bit of a weak spot. Luckily for the Sun Devils, they should have an offense which can make up for that.

The Sun Devils will have Taylor Kelly, who threw for more than 4,200 yards last year while scoring 37 total touchdowns. They still have star wide receiver Jaelen Strong as well. The line should be solid, so expect the Sun Devils to have the capacity to put up a lot of points.

They’ll need to score quickly and often as Arizona State’s defense is likely to leave plenty to be desired. The team has to replace nine starters from last year. A lack of depth in the secondary and general inexperience may hurt, especially considering that plenty of ASU’s tougher games happen early in their schedule, right when the team’s defense should be finding its footing. It should mean a high scoring and entertaining team, but one who will have a hard time playing with the elite teams in the Pac 12.

ASU currently enjoys National Championship odds of 68-1.
