love press

After what seemed like decades of rumors, speculation, waiting periods, Kevin Love is officially a Cleveland Cavalier after the organization introduced the former Timberwolves forward on Tuesday.

As expected, Love will not wear No. 42, as that number hangs in the rafters from Nate Thurmond, therefore has elected for a switch to zero, giving Cavs fans their second new jersey to purchase in the last two months. Unlike the case of Andrew Wiggins, hopefully this one will be relevant for more than 60 days.

I’m committed to this team, committed long-term to the end goal and that’s to win championships. I feel like I’m going to really be to go out and play my game. It’s going to be a great opportunity for me.

General manager finally enlightened us how long the team has been attempting to acquire Love, saying talks started over 18 months ago. It is unclear how he will fit into the team’s new system with coach David Blatt and LeBron James, but there is certainly room for serious optimism in Cleveland for a long time.
