I’m not sure if the music industry is ready for a Paul McCartney and Kanye West collaboration but it may be coming.  According to Page Six, the rapper turned Yeezus and the former Beatle turned Sir Paul have been recording tracks with each other:

The rapper and the former Beatle have quietly been collaborating on a number of tracks that could develop into an album, we’re told.

One song, tentatively titled “Piss on My Grave,” is sparking some chatter.

Kanye was seen at McCartney’s Los Angeles show at Dodger Stadium this past week. Paul had mentioned that he’d like to work with some rappers “such as Kanye and Jay-Z” in the past as well.

As far as musical influence and global reach go, there may not be two bigger names than Kanye West and Paul McCartney so this has an air of inevitability about it. On the flip side, a Venn diagram of their respective fan bases would probably have an incredibly small amount of overlap. Are Baby Boomers ready for Kanye? Will Kanye fans care about Paul McCartney? I don’t know but this has all the makings of an unlikely but intriguing pairing.  So, be on the lookout for “Piss on My Grave” which, let’s be real, definitely sounds more like a Kanye idea than a Paul idea.
