In an interview with GQ magazine, Vanilla Ice let it be known that he thinks the new theme song for the upcoming Michael Bay Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is “artificial.”

Because when something is called “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” one has to keep it real or something:

“With respect to all of the artists, the song doesn’t really do it for me, it feels a little artificial,” Ice said of the song in a recent interview with GQ. “What I mean by that is that it sounds like a bunch of executives in the corporate world put it together. It really does not fit the theme of the Ninja Turtles legend. I think you have to understand, and be a true Ninja, to possess the Magic to really pull off the secret sound.”

By “Magic”, Vanilla Ice is presumably referring to himself and his TMNT song “Ninja Rap” which he made for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze.

Ah, yes. There’s that non-corporate, authentic rap about mutated, fighting turtles which only a “true Ninja” like Vanilla Ice could achieve. Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J and Ty Dolla $ign have much to learn from a real TMNT master.
