Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco will not be vacationing in Cabo together anytime soon, or probably ever. The much-publicized non-relationship between the two former Oakland Athletics teammates is not repairing itself despite repeated attempts at reconciliation by Canseco.

Unless you’re living under a rock, McGwire is still fussy after Canseco released his tell-all book in 2005, Juiced, one of the major contributing factors to exposing the MLB’s steroid era.

Canseco threw every single steroid-user’s cards on the table, including McGwire, who of course did not appreciate the blindside. Following five years of denial, the now-Dodgers hitting coach finally admitted to using PEDs upon returning  to the league as Cardinals hitting coach in 2010, but never forgave his former teammate and Bash Brother.

Despite repeated attempts at burying that massive hatchet by Canseco, the two are not on speaking terms, evident by recent comments from Canseco. First, how can a dude expect forgiveness when he doesn’t know how to correctly spell the other guy’s name?

Following these less-than-spectacular attempts at forgiveness, McGwire responded with the following statement to ESPN Los Angeles on Wednesday:

It’s too late. I don’t care to ever speak to him again. What he did was wrong.

While Canseco’s book was heavy duty and probably did not approach the situation appropriately, is it fair for McGwire to be upset about allegations that were indeed true?

Considering his relentless pursuit of a gentleman’s handshake for forgiveness over the past decade, it difficult to imagine Canseco retreating anytime soon.
